A reply to the previous comment reasserting the authors' belief that permafrost did occur in the Loch Lomond interstadial, and that this is the most likely age of the ice wedge polygons. The issue may be resolved if accurate dates can be placed on the raised shoreline of eastern Scotland. -K.Clayton
